Hello, all you happy people!

Well, here I sit working from home for a bit. So I thought I’d (finally) drop in while I’m waiting on a long process to finish.

It’s been a long time, internetizens. My work has been really kicking my life in the ass. I’ve been under steady and increasing pressure to get a big project done. It’s been a challenge to say the least, but things are falling into place. I had my annual review as well.

So I thought I’d wade through the flotsam in my head and at least say “Hello!”

First, The World’s End is a really fun movie– especially if you already like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It’s got some action, adventure and some solid laughs. It makes a nice “trilogy” endcap to the Pegg, Frost, Wright trio’s films.

Oh, I traded in my Taurus PT92 and some cash for a Springfield Armory XDM .40 and I’m very happy with that purchase. The Taurus had been giving me some trouble with the same pin breaking twice. I can’t help thinking that there was some sort of fault with that particular handgun, otherwise this issue should be happening to every Beretta 92 owner as well. The Springfield shoots great! Even with my limited level of skill, I can put the bullets roughly where I want them. And the gun does not give me much of an issue with recoil either.

I’ve been watching some pretty awful films. There’s a lot of shlock on Netflix. Look forward to upcoming Bad Movie Reviews!

I’m thankful that some form of diplomacy is breaking out over the Syrian civil war and America’s involvement. I don’t know if I’d call myself war-weary, but I really think that air strikes from the US would just stir the turd concerning the situation in the entire Middle East. I guess we could thank Russia for that one.

What the fuck is going on in this world when, in the name of a religion a group of nutjobs can storm a shopping mall to execute any non-Islamic people.?!?!? Holy shit! How much more senseless murder will it take before something changes?

And speaking of “What the Fuck”, the US congress’ current group of petulant children are all acting like Cartman from South Park: Screw you guys! I’m going home.” How much more senseless in-fighting and obstructionism will be tolerated before something changes. Thanks a lot, you Tea Party douchebags!

On a lighter note, I found a nice CD store about an hour from where I live. Yes, I STILL buy CDs. Picked up some nice stuff I’ve been meaning to get for years– decades, really. Golden Earing, Roy Orbison original recordings, Asia, and more. Pretty cool!

I watched Agents of SHIELD. It felt rushed.

Programs about pseudo-science and what-if-scenarios on channels that had the mandate to present fact really chap my ass sometimes.

Oh, and one last thing. Instant potatoes made with heavy cream instead of milk are AWESOME!
